I am a registered board-certified art therapist, licensed clinical professional counselor, licensed clinical professional art therapist and approved art therapy and counseling supervisor in the state of Maryland. I specialize in collaborative, self-determined creative work with disabled individuals, engaging with care teams and families as needed and/or as desired by artist-clients.

As a long-time Baltimore City resident, I live and work on the lands of the Piscataway. I strive to bring cultural humility and authenticity to my relationships and work. Beyond my studio-based practice work, I am committed to building community through the creation and maintenance of third spaces or Art Hives. An Art Hive is a public art therapy practice that invites radical inclusivity, regards everyone as an artist, and provides materials and space freely for community to gather, create, and share what is important to them.

The creation of spaces and co-constructed opportunities is a large part of who I am. I enjoy visioning and shepherding ideas into robust being. I am a co-founder and Associate Director of Make Studio, a progressive art studio for adults with disabilities. I also founded the art therapy programs at Notre Dame of Maryland University, establishing an undergraduate major and Maryland’s only graduate, accredited training program in art therapy where I taught as a tenured associate professor and administrator for the last eight years.

I have been in the field of art therapy for 30 years, 20 of those within special education settings- Kennedy Krieger Schools and St. Elizabeth School in Baltimore. I was privileged to have contributed to the establishment of Maryland’s premier art therapist license in 2012. I was also honored to have recently collaborated with colleagues within the American Art Therapy Association’s Undergraduate Education Committee on the publication of the Association’s first-ever undergraduate education guidelines. My professional enjoyment of collaboration and partnership extends authentically within my clinical practice and work with artist-clients.

I am available for individual, studio-based art therapy services, consultation, ATR and clinical license supervision, and workshops. I work with disabled artist-clients 12 years of age and older, through adult. Most often my clients identify as having “invisible disabilities” such as autism or neurodivergence and/or Intellectual Development Disorder (IDD).
